Ducane Gas Grills

With our expanding waistlines, my family finally decided to reform and decide to use an alternative approach of cooking that is to use grilling for cooking food. With a barbeque party also around the corner, we decided to explore some good grills. A quick Google search listed Ducane Gas Grills as one of the top results for a natural gas barbeque grill.

We decided to visit the local home supply center to have a look at the stainless steel grills available in the market, which looked compact and nice but was fuel efficient and easy to use.

The sales person took us to the Ducane gas grill section and we finally decided to take home Ducane 30400040 Stainless Steel Propane Grill. Besides being compact with a large cooking area, it was also cheaper than Weber, which made it an obvious choice for us.

We used our friend’s truck to bring the unassembled box home. The assembling of this Ducane Gas Grill was as simple as putting together a toy airplane for a kid. It took us 30 minutes to un-wrap the protection against heat distribution plates, attach the shelves and the tank and we were ready to Grill.

Igniting the grill was as simple as turning the ignition knob to “high”. There is a huge drip tray which is available underneath to collect all the drippings of marinates which we use. For easy cleanup, these trays could be covered with aluminum foils. This grill also comes with an infrared burner as well as a temperature gauge.

Other features include a stainless steel side table and warming rack. You have to be a little cautious of the heat distribution from back to front, which resulted in burning of initial few burgers for us, but posed no problem once we knew about it.

Being so impressed with the ease of use and look of the Ducane Gas Grill, we decided to throw a party to our close friends on a clear Friday evening. The menu included hot dogs, burgers, barbecued chicken, grilled potatoes, onions and tomatoes. The one word, which described the evening, was “Wow”. The food was superbly done.

We have thrown several more parties after that day and have tried our hands at grilling steaks, vegetables and much more on the Ducane Gas Grill. With a robust stainless steel body and a compact size, it is a sure winner for any home.
